Gliding Technique
The gilding of the frames and mirrors in fine gold is executed by Italian-Art’s craftsmen, using one of the oldest techniques to exist, the so called “tecnica a guazzo” (gouache technique). It is a fascinating technique, although known for the difficulty in its elaboration. It’s a procedure that requires different phases and takes several days of processes combined with different elaborate steps before being able to see the end result.
The finished work, however, is astounding a work of incredible craftsmanship in this art whose origins are lost to the ages, the process of which has remained the very same since the oldest of times.
